The Great Fayette Freeze Off isn't the only thing happening this Saturday. Fayette High School alumni from near and far ' and of all ages 'will converge on the community for the annual all schools reunion.

This year's reunion will honor former FHS teacher Alice Burke. And the reunion committee will recognize the first scholarship recipients from the class of 2006.

The big event will be the banquet at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons area. The doors will open at 4 p.m. for alumni who wish to wander the hallways.

Later that evening a dance will be held at the Howard County Fairgrounds from 9 p.m. to midnight. The cost is $5 at the door.

Those who have not made reservations may do so by contacting Beverly Markland at 248-2491. Registration for those who have prepaid for meals is Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Commercial Trust Community Room and Saturday on the courthouse lawn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Freeze Off. (In the event of bad weather, Saturday's registration will be moved to the CTC Community Room.)

In an effort to cut costs, the committee has set alumni dues of $10, payable every five years to Fayette Schools Reunion , PO Box 184, Fayette, MO 65248. Half of the dues money collected will go toward scholarships.
