Robert Wayne Parks, 71, affectionately known as “Bobby” to his family and friends and “Bobbop” to his grandsons, passed away August 17, 2026, peacefully at home with his devoted daughters at his side.

Bobby was born on December 29, 1954, to Dan Berry Parks and Rose Mary (Cretzmeyer) Parks. He spent his early childhood in Salisbury, Missouri, before his family moved to Glasgow, Missouri, where he remained for the rest of his life. That move proved especially meaningful when Bobby met his classmate and the love of his life, Joyce (Himmelberg) Parks. Bobby and Joyce graduated from Glasgow High School in 1973, married on June 21, 1975, and were blessed with two daughters, Kelly and Kasie. Bobby and Joyce built a full and happy life together. They traveled, played softball, cheered on the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams, spent countless days boating on the Lake of the Ozarks, and, most importantly, raised their family together. Joyce remained the love of Bobby’s life, and her passing on October 13, 2004, left a place in his heart that could never be filled.

Bobby proudly spent his entire working life at Glasgow Quarries, Inc., eventually becoming a co-owner and operator of the family business established by his grandfather and father.

In his later years, Bobby’s greatest joy came from his grandsons, Jackson and Silas. A lifelong sports fan and natural athlete himself, Bobby rarely missed an opportunity to watch his grandsons compete, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. He was also the proud and devoted manager of his fantasy football team, the Reginald Birds, which was an important and much-loved part of his life.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Joyce. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Joe) Kallmeyer and Kasie (Joe) Meyer; his grandsons, Jackson Meyer (son of Joe and Kasie Meyer) and Silas Kallmeyer (son of Joe and Kelly Kallmeyer); and his brothers, William “Bo” Parks and Dan Berry “Stubby” Parks, II.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Mary Church in Glasgow, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, the evening before the service, at St. Mary Church. Interment will follow services at Washington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary School or the Glasgow Booster Club, c/o Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St., Glasgow, MO 65254.
