To the Editor:
I want to thank the voters in the Southwest Ward for giving me the opportunity to serve on the Board of Alderman (City Council) these past two years. I hope to stay engaged and continue to serve our community as opportunities arise. Two young leaders,Tristin Head and Leeanna Shifflet are candidates for my position as Southwest Ward Alderwoman. These young women have a heart for the City of Fayette and fresh perspectives which I find encouraging. Please support them by showing up if you truly want to change something; they can listen and empathize, but unless the public is brave enough to show up and speak out to validate their report from citizens, very little can be done. If you feel a tug on your heart to serve, take courage and follow that call. Serving on the Board of Alderman has been a wonderful learning experience and a privilege.
