New Franklin improved to 2-1 on the season with 19-0 rout of Madison on the road Friday.

Senior pitcher Connor Wilmsmeyer struck out 11 batters over five innings. He allowed just one hit and issued two walks.

At the plate, the Bulldogs pounded out 19 hits. Jake Marshall, Lane Hackman, and Nolan McGowan each doubled. Tanner Bishop and Wilmsmeyer each drove in three runs. McGowan, Justin Hundley, and Dalton Ivy each finished with two RBI.

“It was good to see so many guys get in and have success and Connor to get some extended time on the bump,” said New Franklin coach Erich Gerding.

New Franklin was scheduled to host the Northeast Bearcats Tuesday after the Advertiser went to press. On Thursday, the Bulldogs travel to Sturgeon for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
