SIXTY YOUNG BASKETBALL PLAYERS hit the hardwood last week for the annual Central Methodist University basketball camp. Players ranged in age from Kindergartners through eighth-graders.
Players learned skills and techniques from CMU coaches, players, and graduate assistants throughout the week.
Last week’s session was the first of two for grade-school athletes. The next runs July 29 through August 1. Team camps took place earlier in June.
CMU men’s coach Matt Sherman, who grew up attending the Eagles’ basketball camps, said the turnout was good. Most players hailed from Fayette, Glasgow, New Franklin, and Harrisburg.
Players interested in attending the second session should visit the camp website at www.cmueaglesbasketballcamp.com.
