Louis and Gladys Walker recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 8 at the Mt. Pleasant Church near Higbee. Louis Carl Walker and Gladys Moyer were married on June 3, 1954, at the home of the Rev. Sercy White in Higbee. Their attendants were Bobby Crowley and Doris Espenschied.
The couple were blessed with two children, Carl Walker and Maria Walker Gose; five grandchildren, Engel and Brandon Walker, Luke Ruggles, and Abbey Ruggles Mclouth; and 12 great-grandchildren.
According to the bureau of census, only one-tenth of one percent of marriages last for 70 years. “We are blessed and still living our journey through life,” said Gladys.
The celebration was hosted by their children, Carl and (Jennifer), and Marie and (Gary).
A lovely dinner was served and enjoyed by family and friends. Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate this special day.
