Posted

The Fayette High School Falcon Pride Band added to its healthy trophy collection with a slew of awards including the coveted Sweepstakes Award at the Central Methodist University Band Day on Saturday.

Fayette won the parade, field, and drumline competitions, and placed second in the indoor colorguard competition. The band also took home the Class 2 Outstanding Field Percussion and Outstanding Field Auxiliary awards.

This is the second straight competition in which the band has won the Sweepstakes trophy. Fayette also took the top award at Carrollton Band Day on September 28.

The Glasgow High School Band also had a strong day, placing second in the Class 1 field competition, and third in the parade competition.

Additional photos appear on pages 4 and 5 of the print and e-editions.
