Mayor swears-in new City Clerk

Mayor Greg Stidham officially swore-in Mati Rogers as the new City Clerk on Thursday.

Mrs. Rogers has served as Assistant City Clerk the last couple of years. She succeeds Judy Thompson, who stepped down at the end of August after two years with the city.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at City Hall.

“I thank everybody for trusting me this position and serving the city,” said Mrs. Rogers after taking the Oath of Office. “I am looking forward to working with you all together as a team for the benefit of the city.”

The city council recently hired Boonville resident Tammy Purvis to serve as the City Clerk, but she resigned three-and-a-half weeks before she was to start.

The city is now seeking applications for a new Assistant City Clerk. An advertisement for the position appears on page 15 of this newspaper.
