The Central Methodist Department of Athletics has announced the 2025-26 Hairston Hall of Fame Class, which will be inducted on January 17.
The Hairston Hall of Fame was established in 1983 through a gift from William L. Hairston, a 1933 graduate of Central College (now Central Methodist University). The Hall of Fame honors the outstanding accomplishments of CMU athletes, coaches, administrators, and teams and recognizes significant contributions to the University’s athletics programs.
This year’s individual Hall of Fame inductees include Dan Schmidlin (Women’s Soccer Coach), Mark and Rebecca Harbison (Athletic Contributors), Drew Greiwe (’13 - Baseball), Stephanie (Sullivant) Kleyh (’11 - Softball), Jeff Blauvelt (’09 - Men’s Basketball), and Morgan (Vetter) Grosse (’15 - Women’s Basketball).
In addition, the 2018 and 2019 men’s soccer teams, which won the school’s first pair of NAIA National Championships and were coached by Hall of Famer Alex Nichols, will also be inducted.
“Every Hall of Fame class we induct is amazing, and this year’s class is no exception,” said Director of Athletics Jeff Sherman. “Beginning with back-to-back NAIA National Championship Soccer teams that were coached by Hariston Hall of Famer Alex Nichols. We are also including one of the most successful women’s soccer coaches in the country in Dan Schmidlin, currently in his 18th season at CMU. We will add four extremely successful student-athletes in Andrew Greiwe, Jeff Blauvelt, Morgan Vetter Grosse, and Stephanie Sullivant Kleyh to this amazing class. Last, CMU Contributors, Mark & Rebecca Harbison. I look forward to celebrating this special day with all of these incredible CMU legends.”
The enshrinement ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 17, on the fourth floor of the Inman Student & Community Center on CMU’s main campus.
The university will release further details about the event in the coming weeks.
