Fireside Bakes & Brews, a half-block off the Fayette square, announced last Wednesday the business is for sale. Owners Nichole and Ryan Atkins said while it was a tough decision, they hope new ownership can take Fayette’s favorite coffee shop even further.
“First and foremost, Fireside is not closing,” Nichole told this newspaper on Monday. “Our plan, as of now, is to sell the business, property, equipment, and inventory together so that Fireside can continue serving this community. This has not been a decision we’ve made lightly. Fireside has been so much more than a business—it’s been a gathering place, a home away from home, and a community that means the world to us.”
Nichole and Ryan opened Fireside Bakes & Brews in October 2021, moving from a mobile trailer to its first brick-and-mortar location. They later opened locations in New Franklin and Glasgow but currently operate solely out of their building on Church Street in Fayette.
Since then, Fireside has been a go-to destination for the caffeine-deprived, often bridging the gap between townsfolk and college students.
“This is an incredible business with an amazing team and loyal customers. It has become a hub for our community, and we know it will take someone special to carry that legacy forward,” Nichole said.
“Our greatest priority is finding the right owner—someone who will care for the community, our staff, and the business with the same heart and dedication that has guided Fireside from the beginning. We aren’t in a rush. We plan to take the time necessary to find the person who truly understands what makes Fireside special. And if we’re being just a little selfish, we’d love for Fireside to always remain a coffee shop.”
Fireside’s summer hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sunday.
