The Howard County Board of Equalization will hold its annual meeting at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 20, in the county commissioners’ chambers on the second floor of the courthouse.
The meeting is for any property owner in the county to file a complaint regarding their property taxes. Those wishing to be heard by the board must file a notice with the county clerk’s office no later than Monday, July 13.
Howard County Assessor Woody McCutcheon said his office has sent out around 200 impact notices to property owners whose taxes have gone up. This usually occurs because of improvements or additions to existing property, he said.
