The Fairground Development Association continues its efforts to raise funds toward completing the Howard County Event Center, currently under construction at the Howard County Fairgrounds south of Fayette. In support of that effort, Commercial Trust Company and Jay and Kelly Jacobs have pledged to match any funds raised on this project after January 20, 2026, up to $120,000.00.
The Fairground Development Association Fundraising Committee has been actively reaching out to the residents, businesses, and friends of Howard County to support the completion of this project. In December, $39,500.00 was raised. The Committee has posted a contribution thermometer at the entrance to the Fairground Road. The association and the fundraising committee thank all those who have contributed to date.
Those interested in donating or seeking further information should reach out to Fairground Development Committee members Randy Hart, Jinger Felten, Sherri Dobson, Leigh Hilderbrand, Mindy Nation, Darrell Hendrix, and Joey Gibbs.
