Laney Gabrielle Brooklyn Thieme, daughter of Ashley Ann Thieme, is this year’s Fayette High School recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award.
The award is given to an outstanding senior class member who has demonstrated dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. As a part of the scholarship application, the student must complete an essay within a two-hour time limit without assistance of reference materials. This year’s subject was, “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving it.”
Laney will receive a certificate, a Good Citizens pin, and a monetary award from the sponsoring chapter, Howard County DAR.
