New Franklin cross country standout Quincy Dorson set a new school record at the Nike XC Town Twilight on Saturday at Terre Haute, Indiana.
Dorson, a junior, finished 27th out of 265 runners with a time of 16:51.50.
Sophomores Ryder Dorson finished 78th overall, and Haden Davis finished 202nd.
“I’m so excited these boys got to have this opportunity,” said New Franklin coach Allison Allgood. “I will call this a blind run because they’ve never run the course before, but they handled it well; we even got a new school record out of it, which is awesome. I hope this is the boost of confidence they needed to finish the season strong.”
Next up for the Bulldog runners is a meet this Saturday hosted by Harrisburg. The Brian T. Simpson Invitational will be held at Gans Creek in Columbia.
