Junior linebacker Treyvion Hourel Jr. was named the First Team Defense, while Dawan Lomax, a senior running back from Boonville, and freshman offensive lineman Quentin Jackson were named Second Team Offense.

Senior defensive lineman Caleb Justice and freshman defensive back Ashton Fowler each earned spots on the Second Team Defense, while senior wide receiver Zyon Slade, freshman punter Jonathin Castillo, and freshman offensive lineman Clint Chamley earned Honorable Mention nods.

Hourel, Jr., a transfer linebacker, was a welcome addition for the Eagles’ defense, appearing in all 11 games. He finished the year with a team-leading 114 total tackles, including 16.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.

A native of Andalusia, Alabama, Hourel, Jr. also forced two fumbles and made a pair of interceptions.

In the season opener against NCAA Division II Missouri S&T, he registered nine tackles, including three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and a forced fumble. As a result, he was named the NAIAFBall National Defensive Player of the Week.

Lomax was named to the Second Team for the second straight year. The senior from Boonville, Missouri, played in all 11 games for the Eagles, carrying the ball 139 times for 621 total yards for an average of 4.5 yards/rush.

He reached the endzone five times on the ground and also caught two touchdown pass receptions.

Jackson, a redshirt freshman from East St. Louis, Illinois, served as a key piece to the Eagles’ offensive line. He helped anchor a rushing attack that averaged more than 140 yards/game on the ground and 11 total touchdowns.

Justice was recognized as an All-Conference selection for the first time in his career on the defensive line. The Jefferson City native had the best season of his career, finishing the year with 28 tackles, including nine tackles for loss, and three quarterback sacks.

Additionally, Justice forced two fumbles and made a fumble recovery. He also blocked field goal attempts against Missouri Baptist (11/8) and Missouri Valley (11/15), for which he was named the back-to-back Heart Special Teams Player of the Week.

Fowler joined Justice on the Second Team Defense. He recorded statistics in eight games, which included 37 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native also played a key role in Central’s 38-20 road win over St. Ambrose on Sept. 13, finishing the day with four tackles and two interceptions, which earned him Heart Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Slade played in all 11 games for the Eagles as both a wide receiver and return specialist. He caught 24 passes for 422 total yards and four receiving touchdowns. Additionally, Slade recorded 260 total return yards on 15 kickoff returns.

Castillo totaled 2,598 punting yards, averaging 34.6 yards/punt in addition to 22 punts landing inside the 20. Two of his punts resulted in touchbacks, and he only had one punt blocked all season.

Chamley rounds out the all-conference selections for CMU, earning an honorable mention nod along with Slade and Castillo. Chamley also served as a welcome addition to the offensive line, helping to lead a ground attack that averaged 140 yards rushing/game and 11 touchdowns.

Central finished the season 3-8 overall, the best record so far in a rebuilding process under third-year head coach Dave Brown.
