The Central Methodist men lost a challenging conference road contest on Saturday, falling 92-73 to Park University in Parkville, Mo.
The loss drops Central to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in early Heart action, while Park improves to 4-5 and 2-0 in conference action.
The Eagles struggled to keep pace with Park’s offense, falling behind early and unable to recover. The Pirates built a commanding lead in the first half, outscoring Central 49-32. The Eagles shot just 38.7 percent from the field, including 27.6 percent from 3-point range and 53.1 percent from the charity stripe.
Senior forward Raphael Gay posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Reams added 13 points, as did Tyson Oghene.
Austin Prater netted 12 points while also adding seven rebounds and five assists.
Park owned the paint, outscoring the Eagles 56-28 inside.
Central traveled to Canton after the Advertiser went to prison on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. Heart tipoff against Culver-Stockton College. The Eagles return to Puckett Fieldhouse next Wednesday, Dec. 3, to host conference rival Missouri Valley College at 7:30 p.m. After that, CMU plays just three more games during the fall semester, with games at Mission (Springfield, Mo.) and Clarke (Iowa). The Eagles close out 2025 at home on Tues., Dec. 16, in a non-conference game against Hesston College at 5 p.m.
