The Fayette Area Community Theatre (FACT) will present three performances of “Join us at the Picnic, An American Cabaret” this weekend at Central Methodist University’s Little Theatre.

The show celebrates America’s 250th birthday through musical performances. The All American Cabaret features many local artists detailing the robust history of America through its musicals.

FACT had originally prepared to stage a  performance of the 1957 American musical comedy “The Music Man,” but was forced to change its plans due to a licensing issue with a traveling troupe.

The curtain opens for “Join us at the Picnic” at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11. The show will perform a matinee at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. The Little Theatre is located on the CMU campus, with parking near Mulberry Street.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students aged nine through 17 or with a valid college ID, or $5 for kids aged eight and younger. Active military and veterans will be admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased online at zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/join-us-at-the-picnic-an-american-cabaret.
