The Fayette Schools Reunion banquet scheduled for Saturday, August 3, has been canceled due to lack of interest.

Alumni association members will be on the courthouse lawn Saturday morning during the Fayette Festival of the Arts.

Thanks to continued support, the association will continue to be able to award Alumni Scholarships to graduating seniors. This year, scholarships will be awarded to Jayden Shiflett and Jillian Flaspohler with a presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday at the association’s tent on the courthouse lawn.

This year, the class of 1959 will celebrate their 65th reunion. The class is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Emmet’s Kitchen & Tap on the downtown Fayette square. Class members should Contact Marcella (Welch) Haerle at mhaerle41@yahoo.com or (812) 629- 7060.

The class of 1974 will celebrate their 50th class reunion at Emmet’s on Saturday, August 3, with a lunch from 1 to 4 p.m. The party will then move to the home of Brian McMillan. Contact Al Terrill with questions at (573) 291-4042 or alterrill@yahoo.com.

Also, on Saturday, the class of 1979 celebrates their 45th reunion at TJ’s Diner & Bar on the square for coffee and breakfast at 8 a.m. That evening, the class will gather at Country Club Bar & Grill on MO 240 south of town at 5 p.m. Contact Lynne Alexander with questions at (660) 537- 0445).
