A 76-year-old Fayette man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 29, on U.S. 40 at Shady Hills Road in Boone County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man, who was not identified in the crash report, was westbound on US 40 in a 2004 Mercury Sable when a 2020 Ford F-550, driven by a 69-year-old unidentified Columbia man, pulled into his path from a private driveway. The car swerved, but struck the side of the pickup, crossing the center line and coming to a stop in a ditch.
The Fayette man was wearing a seat belt and was taken by private vehicle to Fayette Medical Clinic. The driver of the pickup was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol, and no injuries were reported.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
