Fayette Together joined in as groups across the nation recognized Teacher Appreciation Week from May 4-8.
On National Teacher Appreciation Day, observed Tuesday, May 5, Fayette Together board member Lue Lockridge-Lane visited the Fayette school district to thank teachers for their dedication and service. The visit was part of a broader effort to recognize the contributions teachers make both inside and outside the classroom.
Ms. Lockridge-Lane shared a message of gratitude that reflected the spirit of the week: “On behalf of Fayette Together, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to each of you during Teacher Appreciation Week. In our close-knit community, your role reaches far beyond the classroom. You are mentors, encouragers, role models, and often a steady source of support for our children and families. You know your students by name, by story, and by heart—and that makes a lasting difference. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment help shape not only individual lives, but the strength and future of our entire community,” the message continued. “The care you give each day helps Fayette remain a place where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.”
Teacher Appreciation Week, observed annually during the first full week of May, is celebrated nationwide through school events, community gestures, and various tokens of gratitude.
Ms. Lockridge-Lane concluded her visit with a message of thanks: “Thank you for the many ways you invest in our students and in our community. Fayette Together is truly grateful for all that you do.”
