Fayette police remind the public that an ordinance forbids shooting off fireworks anytime, anywhere in the city limits. The exception is the supervised public display in the city park on Independence Day. The ban also applies to the three city lakes.
However, City Marshal David Ford said that shooting fireworks will be allowed in the city park all day on July 4.
