Howard County Prosecuting Attorney Deborah Riekhof announced she will seek re-election.
Riekhof was elected prosecutor in 2010, 2018, and 2023. She also served a two-year term by appointment in 2017. She also serves as the Municipal Prosecutor for the cities of Fayette, New Franklin, and Glasgow.
“I consider it an honor to serve the citizens of Howard County. I appreciate the support of the voters and do not take it for granted. Every decision I make as the prosecutor is always with the best interest of Howard County in mind. My office is always open to the public, whether you have a concern or just want to visit.”
Riekhof has served for 20 years on the Board of Directors of Mid-Missouri Legal Services, a non-profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low-income people in Central Missouri. She has also served on the Board of Hometown Homecare, formerly known as Howard County Home Health & Hospice, from 2010-2021.
Riekhof holds degrees from Central Methodist University and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She began the practice of law in 2005, initially at Daily Law Office in Glasgow until 2010, when she opened Riekhof Law Office, LLC in Fayette. She and her husband have two children and two grandchildren. They live on a small acreage in the New Franklin School District.
