Strodtman Real Estate has closed after more than three decades of selling homes in Howard County. Lori and Jeff Strodtman made the announcement via the company’s Facebook page on Friday, Jan. 2. The business officially closed on Jan. 1.

“After 33 years in business, Jeff and I have decided to slow things down,” Lori wrote in the post. “This has not been an easy decision, and we have waffled back and forth for several years before finally deciding.”

Lori attained her real estate license 37 years ago, followed by Jeff two years later. The couple opened Strodtman Real Estate, Inc., 33 years ago.

Lori also works as the secretary at Fayette First Christian Church. Jeff works at the local AT&T office in Fayette. While neither is retiring, they said they plan to concentrate on their three grandchildren.

“Howard County and the people that reside here have been wonderful to us, and we cannot fully express how grateful we are to everyone that has trusted us with one of life’s biggest events - purchasing and/or selling your home,” the post stated. “We have made so many friends over the years, and after all, that is what truly makes for a happy life. We also thank the lenders, newspapers, other Realtors, and local businesses, and friends that supported us and recommended us along the way. Finally, we thank our family that gave us the confidence, encouragement, and support throughout the years. It truly takes a village at times to make your dreams come true, and our village is big and strong and wonderful.”
