To the Editor:

The City of Fayette Tree Board was recently awarded two Green Tree Grants from Howard Electric in Fayette and Central Electric in Jefferson City. The money was used to purchase two Sugartyme Crabapple trees! Both trees are beautiful specimens and are significant additions to the tree planting project along the Highway 240-corridor entryway into town. The Tree Board will be forever grateful to Central and Howard Electric for the funding that allowed the purchase of the crabapple trees. The award notification stated, “Central Electric and Howard Electric Cooperative in Fayette, MO, are supportive of your efforts to enhance the landscape and improve the environment by planting trees.” 

Thank you to everyone who participated in this multi community/multi agency project to enhance the city of Fayette.
