Fayette resident Carl McDonald, age 60, passed away suddenly on November 14, 2022.

Carl Ray McDonald was born November 27, 1961, in Poynor, Ripley County, Missouri. He was a son to the late Walter Glenn and Virgie Elizabeth (Jackson) McDonald. Carl attended and graduated from Fayette High School in the class of 1980. Following graduation, Carl enlisted with the U.S. Army and proudly served his country, where he was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in December 1982. Throughout his career, Carl primarily worked as a truck driver but also worked in construction. Carl hauled products for several companies, including Orscheln, and his personal favorite, Harley-Davidson. He also owned and operated his own trucking business for a few years. On May 27, 2006, Carl married Brenda Robb in Fayette, Missouri. Together, they have enjoyed over 16 years of love and happiness. Carl loved his family and extended family, and truly enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed the outdoors, long rides on his Harley, and he had a love and passion for his country. He was an active member in Fayette Legion Post 273. Carl was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Brenda McDonald; son, Dillian (Logan) McDonald of Mesa, Arizona; three step-sons, Brian Gilmore of New Franklin, Missouri, Johnny Barton of Columbia, Missouri; and Jerry Barton of Armstrong, Missouri; numerous grandchildren; two brothers, Walter McDonald of St. James, Missouri, and Albert (Rose) McDonald of Wildomar, California; and a sister, Virgie Anita Minard of Boonville, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and relatives. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Rnee Jackson, and a niece whom he loved like a sister, Paula Fernandez.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Faith Family Church in Fayette. A funeral service honoring his life will be at 10 a.m.m on  Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Faith Family Church, with Pastor Jamie Page officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.
