Plans are off and running for the Annual Fayette Festival of the Arts. Organizers are looking forward works of all sorts from artists from all over mid-Missouri.
The art show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, at the Ashby-Hodge Gallery in Classic Hall on the CMU campus. Categories for the Adult Art Show include Painting in Oil/Acrylic, Painting in Watercolor, Drawing, Photography, Sculpture, and Varied Media. Both professional and amateur artists can compete in all categories, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and cash prizes will be awarded. The cost is $10 per entry.
Art drop-off dates Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the gallery. No wet or unframed work will be accepted. Entries must be ready to hang with suitable wire securely fastened from side to side on the back of the frame. Saw-tooth or loop hangers on paintings, drawings or photos will not be accepted.
The Fayette Festival of the Arts is run by “Fayette Area Historical Association.” It features juried adult and children’s art shows as well as live music at the bandstand, food trucks, vendors, a cake contest, a car show, a bounce house, and family.
The festival culminates around the Howard County Courthouse.
