The annual Fayette Area Firemen’s Hog Roast is this Sunday at the Fayette Fire Station at 301 West Morrison Street. Meals will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Keep in mind, however, that food the last few years has sold out in less than an hour. A spokesman for the Fayette Fire Department said on Monday that the department will cook an additional 50 pounds of meat to hopefully serve more people. This is on top of the extra 50 pounds served last year.
The carry-out only menu includes pulled pork, green beans, and potato salad, with a roll and a dessert. Local deliveries may be called in to (660) 248-4004.
The cost for a meal is $10. The hog roast serves as a fundraiser for the all-volunteer departments. All proceeds are spent on firefighting and live-saving equipment.
