Keith Mannen, age 87, formerly of Bremerton, Washington, passed away at Riverdell Care Center in Boonville, Missouri, on April 22, 2023.

Harold Keith Mannen was born in Emmett, Idaho, on July 17, 1935, a son to the late Harold Earl Mannen and Mary E. (Gifford) Mannen Aschim. He graduated from Ocosta High School in Westport, Washington, with the class of 1953. On May 11, 1956, Keith married the love of his life, Sandra Timmerman, in Bremerton, Washington. The couple has enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage. While in high school, Keith served as a crewman on a commercial fishing boat. Later he became an Apprentice Painter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. As Keith rose in the leadership ranks, he was promoted to the position of Shop Superintendent, overseeing and directing the painting maintenance of a variety of naval vessels. After 38 years of service, he retired in 1991.

Keith had exceptional artistic ability. He loved to create and build things such as kites and remote-controlled, gas-powered airplanes. He was also an accomplished quilter, creating pictorial and landscape quilts for family members and high school graduates from his church. Keith obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying over the beautiful inland waterways of Washington. He was an active member of the Kitsap Aviation Squadron. When he lived in Fayette, Keith attended Faith Family Church, where he served as an adult team member for Kids at Praise. In Washington, Keith enjoyed attending both the local Precepts class and Bible Study Fellowship. Keith was a man of faith who loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Sandra Mannen; two children, Cyndi (Allen) Thompson of Rocheport, Missouri, and Edward Mannen of Port Orchard, Washington; two grandchildren, Leann (Seth) Carruthers and Brian (Suzanne CurZn) Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Marilla, Roger, and Blythe; and two sisters, Barbara and Maxine. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Thompson, and two sisters, Lorna and Lyone.
