One business has closed and another opened over the past week. On Friday, The Boricua’s South Street Family Restaurant on South Church Street closed their doors. Owner Manny Martinez said business was inconsistent and it was difficult for employees, many of whom were Central Methodist students, to work around their busy university schedules.
The Puerto Rican themed restaurant opened in June 2023.
Just south of Fayette on Highway 240, Jarrod Allphin and Kayla Wilson opened the Country Club Bar and Grill on Thursday, March 14. The bar and restaurant is located on the corner of Hwy. 240 and State Route W in the building that was formerly The Boondocks.
