A total of 231 Central Methodist seniors received their college diplomas before a packed crowd in Puckett Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Longtime professor James “Tiger” Gordon received The John F. Kincaid Award. Skip Vandelicht and Mozaffar Rahmatpanah were acknowledged for their retirements. Prof. Vandelicht is retiring as Director of Bands after 15 years. Coach Moz began his career at Central in 1983 as head men’s soccer coach and became a professor of physical education in 2006.
Peyton Elizabeth Schafer won the Selecman Achievement Award, the most prestigious award that is presented each year to the graduating senior who has displayed the highest levels of good citizenship on the campus, scholarship, religious leadership, moral and spiritual qualities, and outstanding achievement.
Tate Isaac Hanners earned the Human Relations Award, and Katelyn Kiser earned the Victoria Award.
Former board of trustees chairman Robert Courtney delivered the commencement address to the graduating seniors.
