Coyote Hill approved for nearly $500k in Neighborhood Assistance Program

Posted

Coyote Hill, a foster care organization working to end child abuse and neglect in this generation, has been approved to receive tax credits through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) in the amount of $499,950. Donations of $1,000 or more from businesses or individuals with a business interest are eligible for a 70% tax credit.

“We will use these tax credit funds for our Foster Care Services program serving mid and northeast Missouri children,” said Bill Atherton, Coyote Hill CEO. “The Foster Care Services program is changing the landscape of foster care. All donations support the work of training, licensing, and advocating for foster families. There are over 14,000 children in foster care and less than 5,000 foster homes in the state of Missouri. We are working to fill the gap. In the last two years we have licensed over 100 new foster families thanks to the support of our community.”

NAP is utilized by not-for-profit organizations throughout Missouri to make their communities a more desirable place to live and work, as well as pave the way for economic development. Coyote Hill’s NAP project funding will support a portion of its Foster Care Services program through July 2023.

For more than 30 years, Coyote Hill has existed to give children in foster care a safe place to be a child. By providing resources to license foster parents, giving children secure homes to live in, and providing advocates to walk through life with families, Coyote Hill works to empower the church and community to provide a future and hope to children in foster care.
