New playground equipment at DC Rogers Lake

Posted

Workers were busy Monday afternoon installing a new playground set beside the shelter house at D. C. Rogers Lake.

The new playground cost around $20,000, including a bedding mulch that will be laid once the playset is complete. The funds were included in this year’s city budget. The ADA-compliant set includes two ships wheels, a slide, swings, a funhouse-style mirror, a corkscrew climber, and more.

Fayette’s Director of Public Works, Danny Dougherty, told the city council during its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 25, that he hopes to have money in next year’s budget for a similar project at Rickett’s Lake.
