Fayette High School senior Addison Newell is this year’s recipient of the Daughters of American Revolution Good Citizens Award . She is the daughter of Adrian Stumbaugh and Brian Newell.
Her application has been forwarded for competition at the state level.
The award is given to an outstanding senior class member who has demonstrated dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
As a part of the scholarship application, the student must complete an essay within a two-hour time limit without the assistance of reference materials. This year’s subject was “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving it”.
Addison will receive a certificate, Good Citizens pin and a monetary award from the sponsoring chapter, Howard County DAR.
