The Fayette Optimist Club will hold its annual Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 8. Young anglers may start casting at 8:30 a.m.
The derby will be held at the scenic lake at The Lodge, 542 State Route DD, just south of Fayette. For those who don’t already have them, poles and bait will be provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Free hotdogs and water will be provided. Prizes will be awarded in several categories.
The derby is for anglers aged 15 and under. It runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
This is one of the many events the club hosts for the youth of Fayette. Other projects include the Summer Rec program, youth football and cheerleading, youth golf, blood drives, and annual scholarships.
